I hold a first degree from the University of Malawi, in Social Sciences majoring in Sociology. I had a passion for the Environment and started work in the environment sector after my first degree. I faced a challenge as I did not have a qualification in that area. Through the Graca Machel Trust I received a Canon Collins scholarship to do a Master's degree in Environmental Education. While studying, I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to go on an expedition to Antarctica and became one of a few Africans ever to go there. I experienced first hand the effects of global warming and climate change where we saw with our eyes the melting of ice in the polar region. After my studies I came back to Malawi my home country and worked as Environmental Education Manager for the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre and later I joined Vale Logistics where I currently work. My current activities are to do with monitoring Environmental compliance for the operations of the Nacala Railway Corridor that engages in the transportation of coal from the Moatize mine in Tete, Mozambique to Nacala a Velha in Nampula Province of Mozambique.
