Osiman Mabhachi used his Impact Award to run educational workshops on wetland management for the local community in the Driefontein Grasslands area. Additionally, the project acted as a primer for adoption of land use practices and institutions that could contribute to wetland conservation. Osiman included lessons on award-winning projects in Kenya and Uganda that have helped rural communities develop local management structures to ensure that wetlands are used for the benefit of humans and biodiversity.
