  • Nomagugu was born and raised in a remote rural area in Drakensberg North, South Africa.
  • From a rural area with poorly resourced schools, achieving outstanding academic results to get into tertiary education was a struggle on its own, however, she managed to get into the system and achieve her goals.
  • Through a Canon Collins Trust scholarship, she completed a MA in Public Policy at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.                

 

 

Greatest achievement: 

Achieving outstanding academic results to get into tertiary education and receiving a Canon Collins scholarship despite the challenges of coming from rural and poorly resourced schools.

Professional interests: 

Currently implementing a South Africa Rural Development and Land Reform Project for the United Nations Development Programme in South Africa, supporting South African government policy research and development in Rural Development and Land Reform.
