Canon Collins E-News May 2018

Cape Town, South Africa
Dear Friends,

May has been an extremely busy month for the Canon Collins Trust. We have been reflecting on our achievements and considerable progress in the pursuit of social justice and access to education in southern Africa over the last year, through the publication of our 2017 Annual Review, which can be viewed on our website here.

We have also been putting the final touches together in preparation for what promises to be one of the best Annual Scholars' Conferences yet, to be held at Webber Wentzel in Cape Town this weekend, Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd June. We are thrilled to have such an exciting line-up this year, including keynote speeches from Thuli Madonsela and Pumla Gqola, and look forward to provocative and inspiring discussions around the theme of 'Challenging Boundaries, Claiming Rights.' Even if you're not attending, we would love for you to get involved in the conference by following us as we post on social media, the event hashtag is #BreakThatBoundary.

This month was also International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and we have been collecting views from scholars on what this day means to them as the future Change Makers of the southern African region.

Thank you as ever for your continued support of the Trust.

Best wishes,

Katie Connan
