Canon Collins E-News June 2018
Wednesday, July 4, 2018
London, United Kingdom
Dear Friends,

This month we have several exciting highlights to share. From 1-3 June, we held the Canon Collins Annual Scholars' Conference at Webber Wentzel law firm in Cape Town, where scholars shared ideas and knowledge with each other and our brilliant speakers, continuing to build a network of agents for social change in southern Africa. The 2018 Impact Award winner was also announced (revealed below), winning R30k for their social change project, and the Annual Alumni Dinner was a great success.

In light of Mandela's 100th birthday on 18 July, we are also delighted in this newsletter to share several interesting and inspiring events that will be occurring over the coming months to celebrate his centenary year.

And of course, applications for our Canon Collins Scholarships for Postgraduate Study in South Africa are now openuntil 23 July, so please do share this information widely with your own networks.

This month we also wanted to extend our gratitude to Derivco, who with their employee, and Canon Collins marathon runner, Ben Oates, managed to raise over £2000 for the Trust. It is through generous supporters such as Derivco that we are able to run events such as the Annual Conference and as always, thank you for your ongoing interest and support in the Trust.
Best wishes,
Katie Connan
Learning, Knowledge and Communications Executive
